The digital Guilder.
Money in digital form
The same Guilder as the banknote, held and paid in digital form.
The digital Guilder is intended to be carried on Aletheia StableChain, the State’s settlement ledger, and issued only by the Reserve Bank of Aletheia.
How it would be used
A digital Guilder is intended to be used much as cash is today: to pay a shop, to send money to family, or to receive wages, but instantly and at any hour.
It is a public form of money, issued by the central bank, alongside the payment services that private providers offer. Privacy, security and resilience will be designed in from the start, and set out before any issue.
Three rules
- One currency
- A digital Guilder is worth exactly one Guilder in banknotes.
- One issuer
- Only the Reserve Bank of Aletheia can create it.
- One record
- Every issue is entered in the Bank’s public register.
